XC Savinjska open

General information

XC Savinjska Open is an event bringing competition flying back to Savinjska valleyThere are 4 takeoffs considered, depending on the conditions. 

Dobrovlje: A plateau overlooking the lower Savinja valley and offering a 10km south facing ridge. There are task options to the high alpine peaks or good valley flying.
Malič: One of the highest mountains in the Zasavje hills offers a south facing takeoff. There are good task options in the Zasavje hills.
Kopitnik: Another peak in the Zasavje hills that offers a north facing takeoff. Same as Malič, good task options in the Zasavje hills.
Konjiška gora: A south west facing takeoff providing us with a good option in the event of south west winds, which are common here. Task options are good in the hills or the valley

  • National PG pilot license

Selection of pilots and entry fee: 

  • Entry fee is 75€ (on registration day 90€ – cash)
  • 70 pilots will be selected
  • 25% places are reserved for foreign pilots
  • Pilots will be selected by who ever pays first

Cancellation policy:

  • Final decision will be made 2 days before the competition.

Registration requirements: 

  • valid FAI sporting license and valid national PG pilot license
  • IPPI card level 4 or 5
  • medical insurance covering paragliding
  • third party liabilty insurance covering paragliding
  • unmodified paragliding helmet (EN966)
  • unmodified harness ( EN 1651)
  • paraglider with valid technical check (EN 926/2)
  • rescue parachute, mobile phone and VHF radio
